PORT VISION MUNICIPALITY OF ZWIJNDRECHT

We are writing the port vision 2035 for the (sea) port complex of the municipality of Zwijndrecht.

 

PORT VISION NIEUWE HAVEN, ARNHEM

For the industrial port of the municipality of Arnhem, the Nieuwe Haven, we are writing the port vision 2035.

 

PORT VISION PORT OF ZWOLLE 2035

We are writing the port vision 2035 for the Port of Zwolle. An update of the vision 2030 that we wrote earlier.

 

ROADMAP COOPERATION AND CORPORATIZATION MUNICIPALITY OF ARNHEM

For the municipality of Arnhem, we wrote advice on options for privatization and cooperation of the port activities in the municipality.

 

PORT VISION PORT OF DEVENTER

Based on the previously drawn up strategic agenda for the Port of Deventer, we have drawn up a Port Vision for Deventer.

 

PORT VISION 2030 AND PORT COOPERATION PROVINCE OF FLEVOLAND We have written the Port Vision 2030 for the province of Flevoland. Based on this vision, we have written a report on the options for cooperation to optimally facilitate a port company to be established.

 

PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP IN THE PORT OF OSS

At the request of Koninklijke BLN Schuttevaer, we advised entrepreneurs, the municipality and users of the port of Oss about the area of ​​cooperation and the advantages this has.

 

INTEGRAL PORT VISION MUNICIPALITY OF ZUTPHEN We wrote an integrated port vision for the municipality of Zutphen. The basis for this vision is the Mutual Gain Approach. The interests of the users of the five ports and the IJsselkade are paramount.

 

STRATEGIC AGENDA PORT DEVELOPMENT MUNICIPAL DEVENTER The ambition of the municipality of Deventer is to continue to facilitate sustainable transport over water by updating and maintaining the facilities in the port and expanding existing activities. To give direction to these ambitions, we have drawn up a strategic agenda for Deventer.

 

PORT VISION 2030 AND BUSINESS PLAN 2020 PORT OF ZWOLLE We have written the Port Vision 2030 and accompanying business plan 2020 for Port of Zwolle. The aim of the Port of Zwolle company is to strengthen the business climate for the port business community, industry and logistics companies. Port of Zwolle wants to distinguish itself by creating added value for its customers and strengthening its competitive position.

SHOREPOWER OBLIGATION OR GENERATOR BAN IN THE PORT OF OSS

For the city of Oss and three neighboring ports we wrote an advice about the introduction of a shore power obligation or a generator ban, the consequences for the organiszation of the port and the way in which the measures have regional support.

MANUAL 'SHIPTYPES AND SHOREPOWER NEEDS'

For a collective of ten ports we wrote the handbook 'Ship types and the need for shore power'. This handbook is the follow-up to the research into clustering shore power requirements and the second step in the process of arriving at the right shore power connection at the right location.

CLUSTERING SHORE POWER NEEDS

For eight leading Dutch ports we conducted research into the shore power market and how clustering needs in the provision of shore power offers an advantage to providers and users. The clients for this research were Port of Zwolle, Port of Twente, Port of Harlingen, Municipality of Zwijndrecht, Municipality of Papendrecht, Municipality of Zutphen, Municipality of Nieuwegein and Municipality of Altena.

 

LNG AS A FUEL AND LNG AS AN ENERGY SOURCE FOR SHORE POWER

For a Dutch seaport, we conducted research into the nautical and infrastructural preconditions for the use of LNG as a shipping fuel and for the use of LNG as a fuel for shore power. This research has focused specifically on the possibilities for sea cruise shipping.

PROGRAM 'DIGITIZATION AND INLAND PORTS' PHASE 2 For the Dutch Association of Inland Ports, we are conducting program management for phase 2 of the "Digitization and inland ports" program. The aim of the program is to develop tools so that inland ports can take the step to automate core processes.

FEASIBILITY RESEARCH IN PORT

For a globally active chemical group with a branch in Dordrecht, we conducted research into the feasibility of an inlet port for this company. The study indicates what is needed to make the port ready for use and what investments are involved in this overall.

For the municipality of Altena, the port of Werkendam, we are modernizing the existing port tariff structure and drafting the corresponding port tariff regulation.

PORT TARIFF STRUCTURE MUNICIPALITY OF SMALLINGERLAND

For the municipality of Smallingerland, the port of Drachten, we are modernizing the existing port tariff structure and drafting the corresponding port tariff regulation.

 

PORT TARIFF STRUCTURE MUNICIPALITY OF ZUTPHEN

We have drawn up a new port tariff structure and the accompanying port tariff regulation for the municipality of Zutphen.

 

PORT TARIFF STRUCTURE MUNICIPALITY DEVENTER

For the municipality of Deventer, we are modernizing the existing port tariff structure and drafting the corresponding port tariff regulation.

 

PORT TARIFF STRUCTURE PORT OF ZWOLLE

We are drawing up a common port tariff structure for Port of Zwolle. In addition, we draw up a port tariff regulation for each municipality under Port of Zwolle.

 

OPTIMIZATION OF PORT TARIFF STRUCTURE MUNICIPALITY OF OSS

We have written advice for the municipality of Oss for a possible optimization of the port tariff structure.

 

ANALYSIS OF OCCUPANCY RATE MUNICIPALITY OF VENLO

For the municipality of Venlo, we analyzed the current occupancy rate of the unloading quay and wrote advice on ways to increase the occupancy rate.

 

ANALYSIS OF COST PRICE AND COMMERCIAL VALUE MUNICIPALITY OF BERGEN OP ZOOM

For the municipality of Bergen op Zoom, we conducted research into the cost price and commercial value of a quay in their port. The research was input for negotiations about renewed lease agreements.

 

PRELIMINARY RESEARCH MERGER OF PORT TARIFF STRUCTURE MUNICIPALITIES OF MEPPEL, KAMPEN AND ZWOLLE.

For Port of Zwolle we conducted a study into the merger of the three different port tariff structures of the three municipalities. The study looked in particular at the principles and the possibilities of getting them right without lowering income on the one hand and increasing costs on the other.

 

FEASIBILITY STUDY IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL CARD TRANSPORTERS Commissioned by Secure Logistics and Transport and Logistiek Nederland, we investigated the feasibility of introducing a national card for drivers in professional goods transport in the context of safety. Security related to access control and loading through identification and qualification of persons.

 

The research provided insight into the scope, size and preconditions of a project that has now been started: National introduction of standard ID means in the Transport and Logistics sector.

PORT MANAGEMENT REGULATION MUNICIPALITY OF SMALLINGERLAND

We wrote a modern port management bye-law for the port of Drachten in the municipality of Smallingerland.

 

PORT MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS MUNICIPALITIES IN PARTNERSHIP PORT OF TWENTE

For the five municipalities that work together in Port of Twente (Enschede, Hengelo, Almelo, Lochem and Hof van Twente) we wrote a uniform modern port management bye-law.

 

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE INLAND NAVIGATION CREDIT UNION OF THE NETHERLANDS

In January 2015, Marieke Vavier was formally appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Inland Shipping Credit Union (BKN). More information about what a Credit Union is can be found in the blog that Marieke Vavier wrote about this.

 

PORT MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS MUNICIPALITIES OF MEPPEL, KAMPEN AND ZWOLLE

For the three municipalities under Port of Zwolle, we wrote a modern port management bye-law with the same starting points in order to also express the cooperation in Port of Zwolle in regulations.

 

PORT MANAGEMENT REGULATION MUNICIPALITY OF ZUTPHEN

We wrote a modern port management bye-law for the municipality of Zutphen.

 

SHORTLIST FOR MARITIME STRATEGY WORK PROGRAM

For the Maritime Strategy work program, we have compiled a shortlist of projects relevant to inland ports on behalf of the Dutch Association of Inland Ports.

 

PORT MANAGEMENT REGULATION MUNICIPAL DEVENTER

We wrote a modern port management regulation for the municipality of Deventer.

 

MUNICIPAL USE PROVINCIAL QUAY

We wrote policy advice for a Dutch municipality to convince the provincial authorities of the importance of the use and pricing of a particular quay.

 

PAPER FOR PROVINCIAL ELECTIONS

We wrote a paper for the members of the Dutch Federation of Inland Ports as a guideline for lobbying for the inclusion of inland ports in provincial programs.

BUNDLING CARGO SOUTH NETHERLANDS, ZEELAND PROVINCE

For Zeeland Connect, a Zeeland public-private partnership in the field of ports and logistics, we worked on the project "Bundling cargo in the South Netherlands". The aim of the project is to encourage as many shipping parties as possible in the Zeeland Region to find potential matching between the origin and destination of goods in order to make optimal use of the logistics chain.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

DEVELOPMENT OF LOGISTICS CONCEPT

On behalf of Impuls Zeeland and Foodport Zeeland, we conducted research into the possibilities for improving a logistics concept. This concept was offered by three entrepreneurs from the Zeeland region to an international supermarket chain.

 

FASTXS

The Zeeland region is becoming more attractive for logistics service providers by applying a uniform or standardized registration policy. It is interesting for companies (shippers) from the point of view of reliability, efficiency, safety and speed. Similar interests can be realized for carriers if several companies have implemented it as standard. The core of the project is the common definition and acceptance of a standardized notification policy and system by companies and logistics service providers in the Zeeland region.

EXPLORE NGICT CONTAINER TRANSFERIUM

NGICT has developed a new concept for the efficient design of container terminals. Commissioned by KOCH advisory group and NGICT, we are conducting an independent exploration of the logistical and economic benefits of the system. In the BOX Intermodal of September 2015 an article was published about the economic exploration carried out by Port Solutions Rotterdam.

 

INLAND TERMINAL REGION ZEALAND

For a number of entrepreneurs we have investigated the possibilities of a new container inland shipping terminal in the Zeeland region. Part of this research was to map out the investment, the potential and the returns for a solid business case.

PROPOSAL ORGANIZATION PLAN DIVISION PORT OF ZWOLLE PORT MASTER

Part of the cooperation in Port of Zwolle is the integration of nautical management. Nautical management must be placed with the new harbor master division to be set up. We have written a proposal for an organizational plan for this Harbor Master's division.

 

ROLE, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MASTER OF PORT OF MOERDIJK

For Port of Moerdijk we investigated the current state of affairs and drew up a strategic agenda to further professionalize the position in the future.

 

PROFESSIONALIZATION OF THE PORT MASTER FUNCTION OF THE PORT OF TWENTE AUTHORITY

One of the objectives of the Port of Twente is to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and professionalization of tasks related to port management. We have investigated the desired steps in professionalizing the nautical function and service provision to users, linked to central control and 24/7 accessibility in the event of calamities.

SUMMERCOURSE INTERNATIONAL MARKETING AND LOGISTICS

Every year, we provide the logistics part of the Summer Course for Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Participants in this are international students.

 

TRAINING MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

For a delegation from Hainan, China, guided from Cecec, I provided the multi-day training Multimodal Transportation System.

 

MODULES SMARTPORT AND ORIENTATION ON MAINPORTS

We provided the modules SMARTport and Orientation to Mainports for INHolland University of Applied Sciences. These modules give students insight into the way ports work and how "smart" this sector is and into the node and network function that a main port has.

 

PORT FINANCE

We provided an in-house Port Finance module for the Port of Beira. With this we have provided insight into the way in which Port Finance can be conducted in an efficient and modern way.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP, MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP IN THE MARITIME, LOGISTICS AND PORT SECTOR

LEARNING "ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN INLAND NAVIGATION"

Entrepreneurship is essential for the development of innovations in the maritime sector. In addition, a large part of the European inland shipping fleet is powered by SMEs. We wrote the course "Entrepreneurship in Inland Shipping" for the Maritime Academy Holland and are now providing the accompanying course for the 5th year. Successful completion of this course entitles the holder to the diploma "Entrepreneur in Inland Shipping". This diploma is a prerequisite for obtaining the compulsory transport permit.

 

LEARNING IN INLAND NAVIGATION

We provide an in-house course in inland navigation. This ensures a higher level of knowledge among employees and also stimulates discussion about the way in which the organization deals with (the possibilities) of transport by water.
